Rainy days and chocolate chips

REMINDER-Don't forget to enter the Beads by Eveyln GIVEAWAY! The Birdie in a Tree necklace!! One week left to enter!!!
All this picture is missing is a glass of ice cold milk and I'm set for a comfy evening in with a good movie! I know I have a fashion blog but I want to be able to share everything and anything with my readers and I've been meaning to post this for a few days but have been sidetracked.

Last Friday, in preparation for the football tailgate and family in town, I made my famous, crave worthy cookies! A few years ago I came across a recipe for chocolate chip cookies and after doctoring it up and making it my own I came up with cookies my family can not resist. I have to make around 12-14 dozen just for our beach trip every year and they are gone before the end of the week! So I thought I would share this all with you since it's getting close to the season where we all want comfort food.

Ingredients:
  • 2 ¼ cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter (soft but not melted)
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (1 regular sized bag)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix together the flour and baking soda, set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. I’ve tried this recipe many times melting the butter and keeping it hard and I’ve always got the best result when the butter is so soft I can squish it with a spoon but not melted.
  • Then beat in the instant pudding mix, eggs, and vanilla. I usually add a little extra vanilla for taste. After it’s all blended and smooth, blend or stir in the flour mixture.
  • Finally, stir in the chocolate chips. Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • In the preheated oven bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

I’ve tried this recipe with chocolate pudding and peanut butter chips and it is very good! I’m sure you could try any combination.

I hope you all enjoy this recipe! If you do try let me know what you think! I'd love to know if other people think they're as good as my family does. I don't eat chocolate too much so my opinions don't matter.
