Rock of Sun

If you've been reading me for a while you know that I've been dabbling in the photography world. I find it so relaxing to just walk around and snap pictures of everything and anything and while in NYC I had such a great time. I'm helping with my first wedding this weekend so to prepare for that I wanted to practice photographing people. My gorgeous bestest friend agreed to let me photograph her and I really love these pictures. The weather and sunshine were amazing that day and we found this great rock to have a picnic on top of. I did learn that I need to move items out of the way when taking pictures-like random bags, bottles and shoes.

Thank you Tricia for allowing me to photograph you! I know this isn't my typical fashion post, but the only for my skills to improve is to get feedback from people :) So sound off! Let me know what you think.

  1. That is the cutest romper ever! These pictures are great, but you are definitely right about moving things...a bit distracting.

  3. Love that picture of your friend sitting up on the rock, she looks stunning, great shot! Plus just wanted to say a huge thanks for a post you did a while ago about photo editing sites! It has been a god send and I have been using quite a few of your suggestions!

  4. Just watch for amputated appendages. You've got a few where you've cut off her toes. Shoot look nice though, and you've got some Rule of the Thirds in there, so your composition is good. Just remember, if you're shooting a bride to set your exposure/white balance to her dress! Also, if you're helping with the wedding, don't forget to get the little detail shots, like the rings, the cake, flowers, the table settings, and of course - her shoes!
