Vintage Skirt (last seen HERE), sweater, and necklace; bracelet and shoes-gift
I know I'm like 2 weeks late on posting about my 4th of July but I just had to share my weekend with you. We celebrated the 4th a day early so my family and relatives could all come together at my parents house for our new annual seafood fest. I wanted to wear something that was light and comfortable since I would be running around in circles helping my sister get all the food ready for the day. I decided to pull my polka dot skirt (last seen here) out again but this time pairing it with a contrasting blue. I then added pops of red with my bracelet and nails and kept it safe with a sparkly pair of flats. (These pictures were taken a few days later-hence my nails not being red). I loved it and really did feel comfortable all day.
I spent the majority of the next day, the 4th, in the kitchen baking cakes and decorating them so I wore nothing fancy-just my swim suit and coverup. We decided to celebrate both of my nieces birthdays on the 4th since Grace was born 2 years ago on that day and my other niece, Caroline, was born on the 16th. These cakes by far are my best to date! Here's the run down-(boxed) yellow cake, homemade peanut butter cream cheese frosting for the filling, and then homemade butter cream icing on top. I used edible glitter and sugar sheets to decorate the cakes then. Each of the girls had their own special miniature cake, and then a larger one for the family to share. When we sat Grace's cake in front of her I think I saw drool coming out when her mouth fell open. She couldn't believe she had a cake all to her self. Caroline, only being 1, wasn't to sure what to do with her cake yet.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July! Again, I'm so sorry I was gone for so long and for not posting these sooner. Forgive me? I think I'll have to make it up to you all for standing by me by hosting a giveaway soon!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
