Crème Brulée

Happy Food Friday!! I know, it's been so long since I did a Food Friday post and I feel terrible. With the holiday I was baking so many different things at once that I got side tracked and never took pictures or posted anything. But Food Friday returns! I'm not sure if you enjoy my FF posts but I love them. It gives me an excuse, not that I need one, to bake/cook more! If you haven't noticed from the many previous posts I love to bake. After high school I wanted to go to pastry school and open my own bakery, however, my father thought it was better for me to attend business school. So now I work full time in an office and bake in my spare time. It's an okay compromise, I guess. I was craving something sweet the other day and found blocks of cream cheese in the fridge and then remembered this recipe (here) I found before Christmas. 
This recipe (here) is very yummy, however, I would probably make a few changes the next time I make it. The store did not have toffee pieces, which is why the top is bare, but I think next time I will drizzle some caramel or chocolate over the top. Also, I put the cookie crust too far up on the sides. The recipe says halfway up the pan but I would probably only do a little edge. As always, please let me know if you try this recipe. I would love to hear what others think!

Big plans for you this weekend? I'll be spending most of it in bed or on the couch. I'm getting some injections in my spine today to help take care of the excruciating back pain from a past injury, then I'll be dining out Saturday with a friend. What I really want to do this weekend is play in the snow, but there is hardly any here. I wish my area would get a HUGE snowstorm like last year, but I'm doubting that will happen.
