Guest Blogging Series

“April showers bring May flowers” is an old saying that every April during the rainy days I find myself repeating over and over. April always seems to drag on because I eagerly await for May and the start of the blooming flowers. This April was no different and my rain boots sure got their wear this month. But now that it's the beginning of May I couldn't be more happier. I live for long walks in the evening and coming home with handfuls of wild fragrant flowers that the earth had been hibernating all winter long. I love flowers- they breathe the sign that new life and adventures are possible and they can instantly brighten anyone’s day.

I knew that since I was going on vacation at the beginning of May I wanted to do a guest blogging series that incorporated my love for flowers. So I asked each blogger to pick a flower that spoke to them in some way and create an outfit inspired by it. The flower they choose did not have to grow during the month of May, just any flower that they love and inspired them. I loved everyone's pictures and posts and it was fun to see how everyone interpretsed the flower they choose. Make sure to stop back everyday over the next 2 weeks to see them. I will be back to regular blogging on Monday, May 16.
I decided to kick start the series with myself. Ever since I was little I always remember getting excited when the side yard started popping up with Lily of the Valley flowers. I still to this day get just as excited when I stumble upon a patch of the fragrant flower. I don't know of anything that can put an instant smile on my face like this flower can. I love how this flower is very small, grows with lots of greenery around it and in the shade. It's as if the flower is hiding from intruders but when you do mange to find the flower you will never forget it's scent.

I love the simplicity but yet quiet details of this dress. The jewelry is with a stone called Larimar that is mainly found in the Dominican Republic. I bought the earrings on my last trip there and the necklace I borrowed from my mother. Remember HERE when I sadly put these sandals in my graveyard because I thought I would never find them? Well they were re-released this year and I snatched them up immediately and I am so glad I did- Hello comfort with a heel! If you ever find a patch of Lily of the Valley, stop, pick one, and smell. The cherish that smell forever.

Hope you enjoy the Guest Blogging Series!
