I couldn’t help but feel a little bit like a peacock when I wore this outfit to church on Sunday. But as I walked in to the sanctuary I saw this young girl (5th grade?) look up at me, then skimmed down my outfit, then back up to me and gave me this huge smile. I of course smiled back and sort of giggled to myself because I was reminded that fashionistas are any age. This then made me think about myself and how I was fashionista as a young girl also. I was the 9 year old with pig tails who was constantly revamped her Barbie’s wardrobes to create new clothes then cutting and dying their hair with markers to finish the new looks. Funny how one smile can trigger so many memories and emotions and how wearing bright colors really does brighten ones mood.
